The Edge of Mordor

Natural rock wall on Whakapapa Ski field, Tongariro National Park, New Zealand. This area was used extensively for filming on the Lord of the Rings movies, in particular Frodo, Sam and Gollum's journey through the Emyn Muil and through Mordor, and the epic battle at the beginning of the first movie.

The location can be accessed easily via Whakapapa Ski Field Rd, it's just above the parking place at the head of it.

Eine Reihe von Szenen für "Herr der Ringe" wurden hier gedreht, insbesondere Frodo, Sam und Gollum's Reise durch den Emyn Muil, und durch Mordor, sowie auch die Schlacht zwischen Gondor und Mordor am Anfang des ersten Films.

Den Drehort kann man über Whakapapa Ski Field Road erreichen, das Gelände befindet sich am Fuss der Skilifts, einen kurzen Fussmarsch vom Parkplatz am Ende der Zugangsstrasse.
