Rivendell 8 - forest patterns

Dark outlines of ancient rimu trees silhouetted against the forested mountainside, lit by the evening sun. Former location of the Rivendell film set used for the Lord of the Rings movies. Kaitoke Regional Park, Upper Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand.

Given that the location appears again in The Hobbit, I was curious if the location was going to be used again, but apparently not - on a recent visit, there was no trace whatsoever of recent filming activity. The small area used for filming was planted up again after the shoot was done, and is now pleasantly overgrown, but has obviously not been tampered with again, other than creating a little platform for the many tourists who come to visit the spot.
